Here’s a complete design for a new restaurant called Mini-Food in 92 arrondisement,

The client was a funny dude, for one he requested for taking his photo so he could put himself as a chef on the menu. Too bad he cancelled it in the end, else would be fun to see a mob in a chef suit as he said he would rather to keep it simple.

Here was an interesting client who demanded to have composited photos as his restaurant’s menuboard, he was a quite imaginary person I should add. Before the project begun he threw a few ideas about how each of his menu should be like, described about the scenarios he wanted. Amazingly I comprended well due to the fact I like to watch a lot of manga/anime visual styles. I often laughed with him about each of how will the story goes for each scene.

So here’s what we have as a result:

As we have mentioned earlier that each scenario have its own story behind it, so it took quite a lot of effort of finding appropriate photos and methods for the final composite. Here’s an example for Tikka menu:

This one was pretty straight forward, a simple double sided flyer plus a bizcard. The client was simple he didn’t have any reference, just words he said he must have. The rest he left up to me to decide for him.

So lets have a quick look shall we? :)

Sometimes you’d get the impression you were holding the future of a company when you decide to design flyers, logos or even a simple business card, the feel of responsibility is quite heavy. On the other hand, as long as the client is happy personally I’d consider it is a job well done, yes you are mine now.

From first he wasn’t certain about what he was going after, a few days working with him we started a few sketches. With the colors he chose, we somehow got out something that looks like a shop let’s have a look!

So as a result, it took about 3 days for the remodelling part.

This piece was finalized in mid 2007 for a student exhibition in Pompidou for SAE, it was one of my most favorite pieces. It was inspired by a movie directed by Tetsuya Nakashima called Kamikaze Girls.

It was a shame that I didn’t have much time to make up any ideas, I was bumping my head and was actually quite desperate at the time for ideas to come into my mind on their own. Back then I wanted to make a short clip that has no cuts, one single camera shot from start to the end. So I’ve had to arrange lots of actions that will keep the audience busy while transits from one to another scenario.
